Ocean (Harrison Ford)<\/p>\n
I am the ocean. I am water. I am most of this planet. I shaped it. Every stream, every cloud, and every raindrop… it all comes back to me. One way or another, every living thing here needs me. I\u2019m the source. I\u2019m what they crawled out of. Humans? They\u2019re no different. I don\u2019t owe them a thing. I give; they take. But I can always take back. That\u2019s just the way it\u2019s always been. It\u2019s not their planet anyway; never was, never will be. But humans, they take more than their share. They poison me, then they expect me to feed them. Well, it doesn\u2019t work that way. If humans want to exist in nature with me, and off of me, I suggest they listen close: I\u2019m only going to say this once. Ifnature isn\u2019t kept healthy, humans won\u2019t survive, simple as that. Me, I could give a damn with or without humans. I am the ocean. I covered this entire planet once, and I can always cover it again. And that\u2019s all I have to say.<\/p>\n
Coral Reef (Ian Somerhalder)<\/p>\n
I am coral. Some people think I\u2019m just a rock… when in fact, I\u2019m the largest thing alive on this planet. I\u2019m so big I can be seen from space. But for how long? I grew for almost 250 million years. Then humans came along and now 1\/5 of me is gone. Sure, I live at the bottom of the sea, and you might not see me that often. But you do need me. Do you realize that 1\/4 of all marine life depends on me? I am the nursery of the sea. Little fish depend on me for food, and to hide from the big fish. And guess who eats the big fish? That\u2019s right, you do. I\u2019m the protein factory for the world, yet you raise the temperature of the oceans so I can\u2019t live here anymore. And when big storms and tsunamis barrel through the ocean, I\u2019m your fortress… yet you tear me apart with dynamite and poison me with cyanide. Well, here\u2019s a crazy thought: stop killing me.<\/p>\n
Rainforest (Kevin Spacey)<\/p>\n
I am the rainforest. I watched them grow up here. They\u2019ve left, but they\u2019ve always come back. Yes, they always come back. For my trees: their wood. My plants: their medicines. For my beauty: their escape. I\u2019ve always been there for them, and I have been more than generous. Sometimes I gave it all. Now, gone forever. But humans… they\u2019re so smart, so smart. Such big brains and opposable thumbs. They know how to make things, amazing things. Now, why would they need an old forest like me anymore? Jungles… trees… Well, they do breathe air. And I make air. Have they thought about that? Humans. So smart. They\u2019ll figure it out. Humans, making air. That\u2019ll be fun to watch.<\/p>\n
Flower (Lupita Nyong\u2019o)<\/p>\n
I am a flower. Yes, I\u2019m beautiful. I\u2019ve heard it before and it never grows old. I\u2019m worshipped for my looks, my scent… my looks. But here\u2019s the thing. Life starts with me. You see, I feed people. Every fruit comes from me. Every potato: me. Every kernel of corn: me. Every grain of rice: me. \u201cMe, me, me,\u201d I know… but it\u2019s true. And sometimes I feed their souls. I am their words when they have none. I say \u201cI love you\u201d without a sound, \u201cI\u2019m sorry\u201d without a voice. I inspire the greatest of them. Painters, poets, pattern- makers: I\u2019ve been a muse to them all. But in my experience, people underestimate the power of a pretty little flower… because their life does start with me, and it could end without me.<\/p>\n
Mountain (Lee Pace)<\/p>\n
I am the mountain. I am nature\u2019s oldest temple. My glaciers and streams provide the water you drink. My forests: your wood, your clean air. From up here, I see how you\u2019ve come to treat this world. You used to recharge your body and soul in the calm of my forests. You once climbed my peaks seeking enlightenment. Now you take what you want and contemplate only your own gain. Open your eyes while there\u2019s still time, because there\u2019s one more thing I see clearly: the cliff you\u2019re on and the rocks below.<\/p>\n
Redwood (Robert Redford)<\/p>\n
How come you\u2019re so smart? Kid, I\u2019ve been around a really long time. As a matter of fact, our kind has been around longer than just about anything. I\u2019ve seen just about everything. Really? Like what? Well, I\u2019ve seen weather… all kinds ofweather. And lots ofcritters? Yeah. At first, there were just some bugs and spiders, then some mice and rats, and some rabbits and bears, and skunks. Then, all of a sudden, there were humans. And all hell broke loose. Why? What did the humans do? Well, they changed wolves into dogs, rivers into lakes, and us into wood. They started using the planet like it was put there just for them, act like they\u2019ve got an extra one lying around. Why do they do that? Why don\u2019t they understand? I don\u2019t know. If they don\u2019t figure out that they\u2019re part of nature, rather than just using nature, they probably won\u2019t be around to see you grow up.<\/p>\n
